In today's modern era, students tend to prefer things that are instant and practical as a result of the rapid development of technology. One of the impacts is seen in consumption patterns, where students prefer to shop online rather than conventionally. This study aims to determine the Islamic economic view on students' purchasing interest through online shop platforms.
This type of research is qualitative field research, with data collection techniques in the form of observation, interviews, and documentation. The data obtained were analyzed through the process of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions, in accordance with the qualitative descriptive approach.
The results of the study showed that most informants, namely students who were interviewed, preferred to shop at online shops because of the various conveniences offered, such as saving time, cheaper prices, and fast and flexible access. Meanwhile, the Islamic economic view states that online transactions are permitted as long as they meet sharia principles, such as the absence of elements of usury, gharar (uncertainty), fraud, and the existence of a clear contract or agreement between the seller and the buyer. The informants also stated that online transactions are considered legitimate if the goods being traded have clear specifications and the buying and selling process is carried out based on the willingness of both parties.
